 yes, wasn't thinking straight - that's all fine for the release ARs and
 version ARs provided they are tracked separately (which I think you are
 saying). say it was re-recorded for DSotM, it could go:[[BR]]
 1 is the earliest '''version''' of 2[[BR]]
 2 is the earliest '''release''' of 3 (and 4)[[BR]]
 1 is the earliest '''release''' of 5 (where 5 is from some compilation
 containing the original single version)

 but yes, ideally all the ARs should track back to the earliest instance in
 the chain for release and version, but separately for each.
