Comment:

 I have created a patch
 (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~phw/picard/experimental/revision/791) which
 will show a password dialog whenever username and password are required
 and are not set properly. This should fix the issues here.

 There are still some issues that sometimes require the dialog to be
 submitted several times until the authentication succeeds. I don't know if
 this patch will make it into 0.10.
