More generic in what way? Using AC_CHECK_LIB instead of pkg-config and macros
provided by authors of the libraries (AM_PATH_CPPUNIT, NE_REQUIRE_VERSIONS,
NEON_LIBRARY)? I personally think this have more disadvantages than advantages.
