3. Sort the result yourself
I am afraid this won't work. Let's take this for example.
http://musicbrainz.org/ws/1/release/?type=xml&artistid=72c536dc-7137-4477-a521-567eeb840fa8&releasetypes=Official&limit=100
I get the maximum releases possible that is 100. Now after sorting based on
the release date I still won't have the latest release of Bob Dylan, Modern
Times.
