I think you can just run "ifconfig" in the console on vmware to get the
ipaddress. I use NAT from my host computer, so no dhcp lookup is required
for the vmware instance. Else, you could send me your config settings
(screenshots, maybe its different if you use the player, I use vmware
workstation 4.5.2) from the DHCP and NAT tabs of the configuration, such
that we can compare settings...
