Something to consider before using/linking external sites are the
restrictions (if any) about use of their data.  Even if you (as a user of
RateYourMusic.com) entered the data you're importing, you may not have any
rights to it.  I don't know what the policies or principles of
RateYourMusic.com are, but it's worth remembering that the original
motivation for MB was Gracenote's "appropriation" of the CDDB data that had
been entered by its users.  I would be very wary of linking deeply into an
external site without some written agreement regarding use of the data (and
the continued functionality of their URL structure).
