I'd leave it as is. Any change to the annotation could trigger the bug 
again.

The reason why the shortening of the annotation was removed, was a side 
effect of adding the wiki formating to the annotations. It became 
difficult to determine exactly how much of the annotation to display 
without ending in the middle of wiki formating.
