[mb-devel] Perl/Python Unique Id for a track

I would like to take a track generate the musicbrainz id for it.  Is
there a perl or python module/subroutine that will do that?  The code
turned up by Google seems geared toward providing metadata in
instances where the artist and track name are already known.  I want
to start with an unknown mp3 file.

I'd like to be able to do this in both perl and python.  It seems like
this must be possible, but I've yet to see what I imagine is fairly
simple code.  And I'm a little confused in trying to figure out what
code and documentation is outdated by the move away from TRM.

Any help would be appreciated.
