As far as I can tell, the "Show the whole release" changes the
display. I suppose when it's disabled it only looks at the original
edit in the database, thus it displays the title entered by the first
editor; and when it's enabled, it probably does the same queries a
normal "show album" does, which automatically picks up the
newest-entered title.
This should be easy to check by just enabling/disabling the option and
visiting the link above. It would probably complicate things a bit for
the server code to fix this, but it would make things less confusing.
As for enabling the option by default, I think it would be a good
idea. It only hurts people who disable Javascript or who use
low-bandwith connections, and this class of people usually attempt to
'tweak' the sites they use often, anyway.
