[mb-devel] Release date/locations

Hello!

It just occurred to me today, while voting on a huge list of bootlegs
(Nirvana): why don't we add a "recording" line just like (actually,
similar) to the release line?

I'm not sure how hard this would be on the database, but I suppose we
could add a new table specifically for "recordings". Each "recording"
line would have a foreign key with the release ID, so we can have a
single, fast query to find any recordings for each release without
changing the existing tables in any way. (I suppose the releases are
made the same way, but I didn't check.)

I volunteer to make a script to parse existing bootleg titles for
things like this; it won't be perfect, but it can be quite good.

I suppose we'd need fields for date, country, "location" (everything
between the title and the country), and a free-form "comment" field
(this could cover, for instance, which tracks were recorded where for
releases recorded in several places).

This could also be used for any live releases, and also for some
studio ones (all the last ten or so discs I added had a "recorded at
XYZ studio" lines in the liner notes). It would also clean-up a lot
the bootleg guidelines, and would allow many fun things like keeping
multi-disc bootlegs sorted by title (in case where each disc is from
different dates), sorting everything by recording date, or country,
and probably other things I didn't think of.

What do you think?
