Thanks for this, Sorry, I hadn't spotted it, but thinking about the issue of loading I can see why. There is also a certain elegance to the concept that you can't extend the returned information around the results of a selection(search), only around that of an identified entity.

No, this is how the Webservice works.
See http://bugs.musicbrainz.org/ticket/2431, and http://musicbrainz.org/doc/XMLWebService#head-6aa48f1434a4f1f1ba0ced77e24a43a519cee308 : "The inc parameter is only allowed for individual resources (but not for collections)".

That means you have to do 2-stage query.
