I poked around in here a bit and it would seem that LoC makes no attempt to
handle compound names like Prince and the Revolution, Gloria Estefan and the
Miami Sound Machine, or Bob Marley and the Wailers. It also goes further to
actually drop suffixes for Harry Connick Jr. and Loudon Wainwright III. I
don't think this is a system worth adopting and it's probably best to forge
ahead with what's best. There's nothing that's we must follow someone else's
example but I think whatever is devised should address usability and ease of
use.
