I agree on that. However, "there's no way in hell to get back the 
information" is plain wrong. Unless, of course, we loose the moderation 
history.

Nevertheless, my point is that we loose data all the time, not only in 
this particular case. A line asking to remove most occurrences of (album 
version)
has been in the style guidelines for a long time and has been quoted 
many times in mod-notes. Consequently, many singles were added without 
any occurrence of (album version), even when it was printed on the 
cover. So even if we should ever agree to include (album version) on 
singles if it is printed on the cover, we have already lost data, and 
most likely will for some time until each moderator knows about the new 
rule.
