We could certainly use a "Person created Label", and also the
"professional" ARs ("Person works as a producer for Label").
Now, there are IMO a number of issues:
(a) the "professional" ARs are "redundant": if we have an AR "Person
produced Release", it's implicit this person worked for the label as a
producer.
This is probably a "cascading" problem similar to the redundancy we
sometime have with ARs on tracks vs release.
Question is:
- do we care about these redundant bits?
- if we do, is there a viable alternative?
(b) About dj empirical idea - I think the idea of "ownership" suggest
going into the financial details of a label's life, which might
quickly prove rather complicated, and drive us away from our main
purpose (music) into (unnecessary) "economic" informations.
To my knowledge, somebody who creates (or owns) a label, usually
works as a producer.
Moreover, if somebody owns a label, and is not in some way involved
into the production of releases, then this person probably has nothing
to do into musicbrainz.
Hence I suggest we avoid the "owner", and stick with the "creator" and
"producer" ARs.
dj empirical: does this makes sense?
