Exactly.

Christopher, the problem is that because of historical reasons (mp3
tagging), MB currently has a vague (but important) concept of ARTIST and a
much more precise (but historically recent and not currently fully
exploited) concept of composer and composer (using ARs). As long as we don't
get rid of the ARTIST (or rather push it back to it's proper place, that is
a field only useful for mp3 tagging), we will fight over silly issues such
as this one. The problem here is that one field is not enough. even composer
/ performer would not be enough. For a simple release such as this one, it
might, but what about a concerto? Should the ARTIST be the composer, the
conductor, the orchestra, the soloist? Every opinion is equally valid, and
even you will say different things at different times.

The nest MB database structure will offer a mush better structure, but until
then we should be careful to enter data as coherently as possible. This is
necessary in order to limit the painfulness (does this word exist?) of the
conversion between the current structure and NGS.
