I was thinking that would probably be the best way to do it. The first cover
of a song would be connected back to the original by the original artist
with an "is a cover of" AR but all re-releases within the cover artist would
just link back to that first cover with the "is the earliest version of" AR.
So each artist would have one link back to the original song covered, and
the many duplicate covers in all the compilation albums would just go back
to the first version of the cover.
