Actually, I'm not quite willing to drop the idea yet. We've had a very good
discussion. As I read it, almost everyone who's participating is comfortable
with the two-track approach to correct punctuation. Some people, including
David, aren't in favour of that. Does the clear majority rule in this case?
I intend to send an RFC laying out the two-track approach to punctuation, so
that we have a clear proposal to decide on, and can decide in isolation from
the other CSG issues. I'm willing to put it to RFV and see if there are
vetoes, and if so take the veto to the Elder. This is not to force something
bad on everyone, it's an attempt to let our StyleCouncil process unfold the
way it says it's supposed to.
