I think it's 3 much simpler questions. We've drifted into lots of tangents,
and lots of things that will at some point need to be debated and decided.
I think however, with track masters not live or in testing yet (as you point
out, we have no real clear idea of how it will be implemented), and with NGS
still a work in progress (so we have an idea what it will look like in
theory, but not in implementation), its far too soon for us to make solid
decisions on either w/regards to locking in how ARs will be done. Don't get
me wrong - I do think it's good that we're talking about it (I even recall
suggesting just this type of discussion in the other thread you referenced)
- I just think we need to keep in mind that we're talking about two large
systems that still don't actually, well, exist.

The two main questions, though, that I thought we were trying to decide were
- and in your list above, I guess all fall into c, though I think these are
important generally, not just to newbies. We need to have some clear idea
of what any given AR means, and what it *doesn't* mean.

1. What does a release AR mean?

2. Is there inheritance between release ARs and track ARs?

(and tangentally, between artist ARs and release/track ARs too - ie, if we
have a "Joe was a member of Foo from 1964-1965" AR, does the "Steve recorded
Track bork between August 10, 1964 and August 12, 1964" AR somehow also
imply that Joe performed on it?,etc (I don't think so, but I have seen
people espousing this inheritance idea for artist->release and artist->track
in notes before too).)

3. Should any auto-propogation of ARs (from any editor or specific editors)
be done? (seems to be pretty solidly decided as "no").
