I'm in complete agreement that such an AR is needed. The only part I
would have any qualms about is the above part, where you say "no
accompanying lineup... changes". Quite often, I've seen just a need
for this AR, but there's a change in the drummer, or similar
situations. I'd suggest that rather than attempting to define so
expressly just what constitutes both "bands" really being the same
band, that it more be left to a case-by-case basis, to best determine
for each case if the AR is correct or not.
A similar case, also, would be where it is the "same" band, but there
are major personnel changes apart simply from just a drummer change -
the two examples I can think of would be "The Seldom Scene", which has
had three major personnel changes and now refers to the three as "The
Original Seldom Scene", "The Seldom Scene", and "The New Seldom
Scene", and then the other case being one that many of us are perhaps
*too* familiar with, with the various incarnations of the Wailers /
Weeping Wailers / Wailers Band / Bob Marley and the Wailers / etc.
