Yeah the wording bites.
What I was trying to get at is "the band didn't substantially change,
the name did". Or "A lineup change wasn't the sole reason for the
name change".
Maybe that isn't that important, I can't think of any decent example
where it mattered, but you're right, band lineups are often fluid
between albums anyway.
