How about we say, "Volumes are special, like Christmases are special" and 
make them a set of rules like for discs numbers, i.e. even if the case says 
"disk", you will put "disc"; if the case says "Vol.", you will put "Volume".

I agree with Cristov, that Volume shouldn't be in parentheses, but Cristov's 
argument can work either way if you think about the way disc numbers work... 
I just have a personal thing against too many sets of parentheses, they're 
ugly. Too many sets of colons are equally ugly.

Is there a way that something like "Champions: The Greatest Concerts: Volume 
2 (disc 3: live from America) (feat. Joe Bloggs)" could be made nicer?

Champions: The Greatest Concerts: Volume 2 (disc 3: live from America) 
(feat. Joe Bloggs)
Champions: The Greatest Concerts Volume 2 (disc 3: live from America) (feat. 
Joe Bloggs)
Champions: The Greatest Concerts, Volume 2 (disc 3: live from America) 
(feat. Joe Bloggs)
Champions: The Greatest Concerts (Volume 2) (disc 3: live from America) 
(feat. Joe Bloggs)

I quite like number 3, aesthetically, but the comma's a bit dodgy.
