And hopefully the album name will be embedded in id3 tag of the file, or the
person looking at the entry will have the common sense to read the Album
Title on the page...?

Isn't the fact that the track is on the compilation album in the first place a
good way to distinguish it from the original? I'm not sure I see the point
here. So, to expand this in the other direction, you're suggesting that any
time a track is released on an album that is not the original it should have
a different title to distinguish it from the original? Even if the tracks are
identical?

Effectively the audio is identical, and it is exactly the same track. I still
fail to see why adding "(from American Beauty)" to the title is actually that
important. We can't store every little detail about the track in the title,
particularly when it serves absolutely no purpose with respect to
distinguishing it from other versions of the track. If the tracks are
identical, they should be called the same thing.
