For the MusicMagic database, we ended up using "Artist A / Artist B"
for the combination
case, and "Artist A & Artist B" for the "other" case (where the
combination is commonly
expressed with "and", as in "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street
Band"). There are a lot of
cases where it's hard to tell what's "right" though.

I'm not saying we should necessarily switch to the above, just one
point of reference.  When
AR is ready, I can provide a list of artist relationships from the MM
database which should at
least help bootstrap the system.
