This note is co-authored by Joan Whittaker and Olivier (dmppanda).
We have a slight difference of opinion on the use of apostrophes at the
beginning of a word, and would appreciate some help in resolving it.
For instance: Around shortened to 'round - or should it be 'Round
I personally favour showing it as 'round using the logic that the "r" is the
second letter of the word and should not, therefore, be capitalised.
Olivier is of the opinion that the insertion of an apostrophe makes the
second letter the first letter and it should be capitalised.
The problem becomes more acute when the apostrophe comes at the beginning of
the track name, as in this Chet Atkins release
http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?releaseid=111134 where track 2 is
'round Midnight"
The word "around" is obviously not the only one where we encounter this
problem, but was chosen because we both just happened to come across this
Chet Atkins release at the same time.
For the sake of uniformity throughout the database, we should both like to
get this problem sorted once and for all, and by way of this list are asking
for opinions, either way, so that we can get some consensus.
