A few additional thoughts to the initial mail:
(a) emphasis: the actual english capitalization guidelines *really*
needs a decision about this, as this still stands in the discussion
section and is still unclear IMO:
http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/CapitalizationStandardEnglish
(b) I, personally, as a non native english, don't think I'm qualified
to stand by a choice, and I will gladly bow to whatever native
englishs think is the proper choice
(c) the very specific case of 'Round Midnight (excuse the preference
:p) should not be taken as a generic example as it is in itself more
problematic (this was pointed out by Yllona Richardson in a previous
discussion a few months ago) - this composition had multiple variants,
and deciding what is the proper variant requires more than solving
this capitalization problem (see
http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/Jazz/Compositions)
(d) we have a few other examples of this kind of cases in jazz
compositions ('bout, 'til, 's), and I can provide a few more cases if
it helps solving the generic question - note that I have the "feeling"
shortened words *begining a title* deserve a different treatment than
ones in the middle of it
(e) though this issue (and specifically the 'Round case) was already
discussed in edits notes during May (?April?) 2006 (with Keschte,
Nyght, Joan, Yllona, myself, ...others...), no editing work has been
done in either way, as we felt the issue was still unresolved, and I
think no such work should be done before we solve both the general
problem and the specific "Round Midnight" problem
(f) doesn't this belong to the style ML?

Regards to you all,

- Olivier (dmppanda)
