Yes, they do. That's very noticeable, and one of the reasons I was
for forums (not to replace the mailing lists, but as adjunct to them.)
But after only a month or so, it's now apparently fait accompli that
the mailing lists will now be shut down and discussion should be held
there.
It has been mentioned that there were style discussions on the forums
- look closer, the few real style discussions on the forums were
duplicated and much more in depth on the mailing lists, and some are
still ongoing here.
I like the forums, for drive by question and answers, general chatting
about things, and working on projects like the beatles cleanup, it's
been working great. It's certainly less of a hoop to jump through if
you know you want to ask one single question. Much of what's been
going on mb-users could be moved there, maybe mb-users will outlive
it's usefulness over time. But I would really strongly support keeping
style discussions and RFC's and RFV's on mb-style.
And I really, don't see the hurry.
