Hence one of the problems, having to respond to multiple threads. I
mentioned this in one of the other branches of this discussion, if somebody
misses this post of yours you're out and the discussion gets confused. The
words "As I said before.." or "As I said to somebody else..." refering to
the same thread show up too much and we spend alot of time quoteing from
different branches of the same thing to try to keep things on subject.
Ironically the meandering nature of the Mailing list is perfect for general
discussions like this but once you set down the path of a process to define
some style guidelines the direct nature of the forums are better. Passing
an RFV should never take 6 months to a year.

It has been discussed here in the ML and I posted the links to that
discussion in both MB style and MB users. The fact that some(many) people
didn't see those posts only further points out the problems with the mailing
lists and the whole reason I started making noise about this in the first
place. Luckily that RFC/RFV discussion is very informal and open to just
general ideas (that's why it's in the forum); it's been much worse in the
past. When the new CSG went through tons of people were upset because they
didn't know anything about it. Considering how much was said and done on
the mailing lists speaks volumes about how easy it is to miss important
information in here.
