[mb-users] Artists deleted?

Are artists with no relationships/releases deleted? I created some
performers to add to a release via ARs, but forgot about them for a
few weeks. Today, I noticed the four I hadn't already used were
deleted: http://musicbrainz.org/mod/search/results.html?automod=&mod_type=17&moderator_id=259764&moderator_type=4&voter_type=0&voter_id=259764&artist_type=0&orderby=desc&minid=&maxid=&isreset=0.

I can recreate them, to be sure, but before I do I want to know if
there was some other reason they were deleted.
