The ClassicalStyleGuide does help a little by saying that each track should
be prefixed with the name of the work. This solves your Mahler symphony
problem. At least, you won't have all Beethoven's Allegros stacked together!
But if you have several interpretations of the same opus, you won't be
happy.
The current structure of MB's database doesn't allow to sort classical music
properly. NextGenerationSchema (which I believe needs to be amended a little
more for classical) should address most of your problems. But NGS is
unfortunately not due soon.
