[mb-users] Are 12" releases considered EPs?

depends what it is. different genres have different practices, and
within those genres certain artists may do different things aswell :)
it differs from country to country also. personally i'd look for
either official literature (label site? artist's web page?) to call it
a "single" or "EP", or leave it blank.

there's definitely not a sold rule for what is/isn't an EP anymore.
