Right, but it is a "chicken and egg" scenario.  The styleguides are
presumably based on generalizations derived from some sort of evidence.

The reason I am so riled up about this is that it seems some would prefer
to make up style guidelines out of thin air - right now there is NO
evidence being offered that supports apostrophe + lowercase.

I apologize for arguing the point too far, but you did choose to represent
'Round Midnight with a small-r in your post, implying a different stance.

It sounds like you have a much more extensive jazz collection than I do
and thus have the info to fill out the general case nicely, with 'S
Wonderful and whatnot.
