[mb-users] re: capitalization or not

I'm curious why the apparently official way of doing things ignores  
artist intent? It's always seemed to me that artist intent should  
trump all if you're making a collection of artist's works, or else  
you'll loose information. But I can see I'm in the vast minority, and  
I don't understand why...?
