[mb-users] Interpreting FeaturingArtistStyle

Summing it all up.
* it seems to me that there is a tendency in jazz to have meaningless
sleeves covers (or at least covers obeying a different "semantic" (no
better word in my bag, sorry) than in other music genres), and that
this tendency somewhat defeats the rationale of some MusicBrainz (well
thought :)) StyleGuides.
* this tendency is a well known and accepted fact among jazz editors
(as far as *I* can tell), and these editors (as far as *I* can tell)
tend to favor knowledge about the stuff (eg: production conditions of
a release) over (what they consider) dubious interpretations of the
sleeve of a given edition
* not accounting that fact (about jazz' sleeves) would IMHO lead to
unmanageable messes, as I hope the two simple examples I provided
illustrate
* while I'm *all* in favor of factual, objective and verifiable data,
and *all* the enemy of subjective crap :) - I do think the sleeve is
*not* the only source of reliable (????) information we have, and that
specifically in jazz it should not be *considered* reliable *in
itself*, alone

In the hope that clarifies things a bit...

Regards,
