i seem to recall there being something in the wiki that says as much, but i
can't find it, and there never seemed to be a rational reason for it anyway
when we merge vinyl versions (all different formats are mastered
separately), different label releases, boxset versions, etc, etc.

none of my subscribed artists have their mastered versions separated out -
the users have voted with their edits :)
