I don't think that's completely true. Most mobile
phone manufacturers also have software and hardware
support for aac files and mp4 files. Also sony
supports it on their consoles and psps. Besides I
don't care about the hardware support my concern right
now is only about playing them on pc.

yes I know there are some information like this one
but none of them are official. People reverse engineer
or hex edit mp4 files to see how mp4 fields are used
by apple itunes. And someday apple just might want to
change the specs they use without noticing.
