[mb-users] Is their an artist property for an artists place of

I would be strongly opposed to the longitude/latitude thing, unless
someone has ideas about what to do when you only know that someone was
born in France but not where (and if the person has been dead for 200
years we perhaps cannot know). Do we use Paris? Do we draw a polygon
of coordinates following the border of France as it was 200 years ago?
While not every artist in MusicBrainz can be included in Wikipedia
(Wikipedia has standards requiring notability) I do think we ought to
leave country-identification and the edit wars (look at Wikipedias
edit history of some popular artists born on Taiwan) that come with it
to Wikipedia or other databases.
Searches for "female singers born in Italy who have starred in at
least one Hollywood film" are cool, but we should do them by cleverly
connecting to other databases such as Wikipedia and IMDb (i.e.
semantic web).
