If I follow your meaning, then yes - but only if *we* were the ones
compiling the catalogues.  However, given that we aren't, and that we are
using the Kochel, BWV, etc catalogues, each of which numbered differently,
we're not the ones to be assigning the "No. " to the works.  Thus, the tool
allows for those catalogues which numbered each by worktype, as well as
those which numbered each by worktype&instrumentation.  Each way is
inherently logical - if you consider the catalogue in of itself.  It's when
you try to write a tool to handle any possible catalogue that the two
converge, and no longer are quite as logical.  :)
