The more I think of it, the more I like the second idea (not the one you
chose ;-) ) too. After all, the editor has the burden of the work, the
voters have often less work to do, so helping the editor seems fair. So
canceling the votes could be a good solution too. Since the votes are
canceled, the edit would re-appear in the voter's list.
