In addition to the stuff I posted earlier, I just encountered a CD [1] 
that the old discid.dll couldn't read at all (two data tracks at the 
end), picard gave a pretty standard cdlookup error, but the new 
discid.dll had no trouble with. Just in case you are still interested in 
this information. :)
