I personally think that we should not keep the special thanks list anywhere (ok in an annotation if necessary) cause it would create a vast amount of "artists" that have nothing to do with music, like a random friend etc. Is really a hair stylist/make up artist info we should have in MB and in fact as an MB artist?

I think that it is useless to write down all the peoples in the "special
thanks" section. An average 80's or 90's metal CD contains at least one
page in very fine print "thanks to" and they don't forget the parrot of
mothers neighbour!
I don't know if there are rules but I think that you can use a person in
an AR when you think that this name will and can also show up in another
release. The postman certainly won't but a guy behind the mixing console
can and he can even be famous in some years.
