Hi, yes I agree with the thread but I think it should still be done. I 
would restrict it to submission of new tracks rather than editing of 
tracks, because an easy way of submitting info about stuff not currently 
in the database would be the top priority and because I think
it would be easier to validate the information on new tracks on the 
server before letting it through. In fact you could have another level 
of authentication which only provides access acess to this aspect of the 
webservice for particular applications that do some various check before 
submitting data. I can see this being very good for very small records 
labels who would like to submit their complete catalogue to Musicbrainz.

Here are a couple rules you could apply before accepting the data:
1. Submit complete release only (based on no of tracks, release type ?)
2. Must contain artist/release/title/trackno/label
