Hi Folks,
this is my first post here, so be gentle :-)
I have a problem with the two artists:
- http://musicbrainz.org/artist/ea57170e-f6b9-48b7-9960-2663aeb77740.html
Her real name is likely to be Anne Preven. Evidence:
- http://www.myspace.com/annepreven
She is well known for her song Torn. I was about to enter some Data to
the cover version of Natalie Imbruglia [1]. On my CD, one can read "Torn
written by Previn/Cutler/Thornalley.". So she is called Previn there. So
my question: Is Preven/Previn a spelling issue and so an Artist Alias in
MB terms or is it a different Performance Name?
Currently we have already the two artist entries. But I think that this
is more an spelling issue. Why I think so? On the Wikipedia's song page
of Torn [2] they call her Preven. Here [3] they call her Previn. AMG has
Preven [4] and they have no Anne Previn at all. At the Wikipedia page of
Faith and Courage [5] you have Preven and Previn where I can't see any
different performances or other reasons for separation.
Maybe someone with a better english spelling background can explain if
this is perhaps a common spelling issue.
Regards
Alex
