That's the purpose of
http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/SameArtistWithDifferentNames which hasn't
triggered comments during RFC, and has been in RFV for a couple of
days now.

If you feel it could use more flesh in places, or additional
clarifications about that, then just jump in the discussion on
ml-style, and I'll update it if need be.

As for Lauri example, yes, I was surprised as well that two groups
would be related through a PerformanceName AR (see previous message).

As for your case, though I'm not familiar at all with the artists, it
looks to me that:
- the AR to use between the *persons* and the *groups* should be a
"member of band" or "collaborated on" AR, and not a "PerfNameAR".
- the question about legally forced name changes was covered by Gecks
- I agree with that
