Let me begin by saying that I believe development for Picard has been
primarily handled by Lukas and he would probably be better suited to
answer your questions. I'll give them my best shot anyways.

The two pains are for performing different operations: the left panel
for adding files and organizing them into "Clusters" and the right
panel for loading data from MusicBrainz and moving the "Clusters" onto
the albums. Songs in the left panel can also be analyzed and will
automatically be moved to the right panel and a corresponding MB
release if a PUID match is found.
