Yes, it's simple: don't use SVN trunk for importing DB dumps. Use the
latest release branch -
http://svn.musicbrainz.org/mb_server/branches/RELEASE_20071014-BRANCH/.
I believe it's also mentioned in README files included in the dumps.
(Also note that you don't need to run the server in order to use the
import scripts from it)
