Just my two cents:
Vocal: As in Bono performed lead vocal on "One" by U2 -> Vocal performed
by Bono.
Vocal: As in Bono & Mary J. Blige performed vocals on "One", a duet.
Vocals performed by Bono & Mary
Lead Vocals: As in Diana Ross & The Supremes -> Diana Ross performed
lead vocals, The Supremes (only singing Oo Oooooh) background vocals.
Guest vocals: As in famous rapper featuring forgotten, once famous,
rapper (or forgotten old rapper featuring famous young guy) relationship
-> guest vocals by forgotten, once famous, rapper or in the second case
guest vocals by famous young guy (often Justin Timberlake ;-) )
Guest lead vocals: Metallica usually has James Hetfield as singer ->
vocal performed by James Hetfield, but on the bootleg "Stone Cold Crazy"
(http://musicbrainz.org/show/release/?releaseid=697614) the track "So
What" is completely sung by Animal of The Anti-Nowhere League Guest lead
vocals by Animal *
In this specific case I should choose "guest vocal"
The other question I don't know but my not so world famous mix friend is
always moaning about the number of edits he had to do for a mix or song
(on turntable, computer, tape recorder or on his other shiny buttons) So
edited by.....
Fred(576)
* (why I didn't add this will always be a question, perhaps because it
is the only bootleg in out collection? No that's a bad and silly reason,
let's make it a reality show and find out in 10 weeks.....)
