I'm really glad you posted that, because somehow I had no idea about
DiscIDs.  Just this weekend I added newly released Mike Kenealy and
Frank Zappa discs; I'll go back and add their DiscIDs and then start
doing that going forward.  Definitely changes up the rip/tag process
I'm currently using, but looks like it'll be another way to add good
info to the community.
