[mb-users] Feedback/testing: track merging

 Ok, I've had a chance to have a fiddle with this now. First immediate
thought was - how do I use it? I couldn't work out how to merge tracks and
my initial thought (selecting 2 tracks for a relation) didn't work. Then I
saw your commits on mb-commits and released it's in a new page. Imo, this
was quite hidden, but I don't think that's your fault - I think that
comp/artisttitle is too crammed in general now...

On to the track merging. The listing works well - could be made better with
a "reveal track" option to show full details of track - but for a first
version this does the job fine. The next page (the confirmation of merge)
through me a bit. I didn't understand the meaning of all the radio buttons,
until I understood that the merge had to have some destination. Maybe
rewording "Merge the selected tracks into" could stop this problem. What
through me was just seeing 7 radio buttons with exactly the same label, and
no other information.

I also think it would be good to show the track's release in these 2 pages -
as I think it plays a large roll in choosing tracks for merging.

Other than those issues, I haven't noticed anything else yet (waiting for my
merge to go through). Hope this is useful feedback.

Hi,

over the last two weekends I've done a little mb_server code refactoring
and put together some old code, which implements "track merging"
-http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/TrackMerging. I'd like to ask you for
feedback, especially about the issues listed on the wiki page, but also
for testing on http://tests.musicbrainz.org/ (tracks can be merged from
the new "Tracks" page). The code is very far from finished, and so
expect many things to be broken for now. But still, if you find
something that doesn't work, please send a mail about it here, because
those non-functional parts are usually also the ones that need
discussion.
