[mb-users] Edit types (was: Feedback/testing: track merging)

Hi all,

here is another question, relevant to my current work on track merging.
Currently we have different edit types for each possible track change.
With added track merging we would need at least two new edit types -
"edit track disambiguation comment" and "edit release track title". That
would be not such a problem, but if we add e.g. ISRC codes, we again
need a new edit type. So I wonder if it wouldn't be better to have just
"edit track" and "edit release track". It could possibly reduce the
voting queue a little, and make it easier to do code changes, but it
would be harder to search for specific edits. Another option, which is
even bigger change, would be "edit track" for master tracks and "edit
release" for all release-related edits. Any ideas which way should we
go? Or some other options?

Lukas
