hi,
i have a 5 cd beethoven set [1]; all discids are present already but
attached to single releases with very poor info.
can/should i use them for my boxset and merge them together or merging
duplicates and leave existing data alone?
discid 1 http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/59oXqCmhR93uRaVtLND1TzBsksw- (very
poor info)
discid 2 http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/tRBqn.izrjgcNZLnqJzGjrcgxpE- (linked
to a release where also another discid is present)
discid 3 http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/_1DtjnnwOjPNCnvVzToDlLKyfTk- (this
one is actually linked to two real naxos releases; i would not merge these)
discid 4 http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/8pLpd4WZw_nVZcs_ia9Hwr7oHd4- (very
poor info)
discid 5 http://musicbrainz.org/cdtoc/9OrQu_1G62ydhIuD_7h3B06iXbo- (linked
to a release where also 2 another discid are present)
since this is boxset from naxos sublabel amadis it is very likely that
there are more single discs were published as standalone releases by
naxos. i planned on duplicating disc 2,3 and 5 and removing the discID
from my boxset from them. disc 1 and 4 i'd merge completely into the new
boxset.
least prone to mistakes would be to duplicate every disc and merge the
dupes, but whats the benefit in having releases like the ones for disc 1
and 4 in the database?
